Poached pears, clotted cream with ginger spice, baked apples and crème brûlée and of course, the slippery texture. I wouldn't hold this much longer: ready now.Jane Faulkner Published 13 August 2021Winery - Scorpo WinesWinery Region - Mornington PeninsulaVariety - Pinot GrisColour - WhiteStyle - StillVintage - 2018Halliday Rating - 92/100Price when Tasted - $35.00Date when tasted - 02 February 2021Alcohol - 14 %Drink By - 2022Closure –Screw cap[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17241" img_size="full" alignment="center"][vc_column_text]A boldness of flavour reflects the MV6 clone and its place on the peninsula. Dark cherries, exotic spices with wafts of earth, bitumen and cedary oak. Full bodied and dense, with an abundance of fine-grained tannins, not yet resolved, with perky acidity in the lead. This feels as though it's still coming together and will unfurl in time.Jane Faulkner Published 13 August 2021Winery - Scorpo WinesWinery Region - Mornington PeninsulaVariety - Pinot NoirColour - RedStyle -  StillVintage – 2019Halliday Rating -92/100Price when tasted - $80.00Date when tasted - 02 February 2021Alcohol - 14.5 %Drink By - 2032Closure - Screw cap[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

2018 Scorpo Aubaine Chardonnay, Mornington PeninsulaPristine scents of grapefruit, melon and lemon reveal smoky charcuterie undertones, suggestions of cinnamon and nougat, lime and coriander. Packed with vivacious fruit and backed by savoury oak, it’s generous and deeply flavoured but retains elegance and style, with a baby fat-like unctuousness tightened and focused by a refreshing acidity, and a briny, ferrous aspect at the finish. Astonishing quality and value – significantly better than many, many wines at twice its price.  JO

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17245" img_size="full" alignment="center"][vc_column_text]Hand-picked MV6 and Abel clones fermented separately with very different vinification, matured for 13 months in French oak (20% new). Deep, clear crimson-purple; powerful, deep and rich, yet no hint of over-extraction. Luscious plum and dark berry fruit tells you to take no liberties. Top stuff with a spicy savoury finish. Will live for many years on the pinot calendar.Winery - Scorpo WinesWinery Region - Mornington PeninsulaVariety - Pinot NoirVintage – 2017Halliday Rating - 96/100Price when Tasted - $55.00Date when tasted - 25 Mar 2019Alcohol - 13.5 %Drink By - 2037Closure - Screwcap[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17245" img_size="full" alignment="center"][vc_column_text]When you combine fruit power with this kind of complexity, and add finesse to the equation, then you go straight into the elite class. This drives home its case with flavours of peach, nougat, flint and a variety of barrel-worked complexities. One sip and you feel caught in its headlights; there's so much going on, its hard not to become fixated.Winery - Scorpo WinesWinery Region - Mornington PeninsulaVariety - ChardonnayVintage – 2015Halliday Rating - 96/100Price when Tasted - $60.00Date when tasted - 05 Mar 2018Alcohol - 13.5 %Drink By - 2023Closure - Screwcap[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Hand-picked, wild yeast-open fermented with 10% whole bunches, 20 days on skins, matured for 13 months in French oak (20% new). The fruit is deep and complex, no surprise, but the savoury tannin support has also been well managed. The fresh, vibrant palate supports my suspicion that Mornington Peninsula chardonnay would be better without mlf in most instances. Grapefruit provides the javelin of the fruit expression, nothing more.Winery - Scorpo WinesWinery Region - Mornington PeninsulaVariety - ChardonnayVintage – 2019Halliday Rating - 95/100Price when Tasted - $48.00Date when tasted - 24 Mar 2020Alcohol - 13.5 %Drink By - 2029Closure – Screwcap[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
